WELCOME IN VENNEBURG - The city where the known office machine is re-appreciated.
My English is still in development as it is my second language. Therefore, spelling errors in text and titles are common.
Thanks for the consideration.

Images of pre-cleaning the typewriters that i received for a payed restoration, on April 15th 2013

A theory - to get rid of confusion.

Many people say, "Computers have taken over typewriters"
Many people think that the typewriter is the old computer.
I don't think so. As in many ways, the computer in fact has combined several loose options into one. For example, if you want to find a telephone number, will you actually still go through a telephone book or will you search it on the computer? A word, from a dictionary, is looked up on the computer. Information, for example, concerning a payment that needs to be made, is looked up on the computer. All these things are put into one machine, making so much things obsolete.

~Newspapers
~Camera's
~Bills
~Letters
~Telephone books
~Television
~Paper
~(Yes, cars)
~Typewriters
~Radio's.

...all these items, and more have been combined and have been put into one device. You don't need the car for half the stuff anymore that you needed it for 20 years ago. The television...we have the laptop, and typewriters have been turned into one of the devices that have been combined with so much other things.

Here is a diagram for what has happend.

Typewriter       Newspaper       Telephone        Television      Radio
     v                     v                  v                   v               v
     v                     v                  v                   v               v
     v                     v                  v                   v               v
     v                     v                  v                   v               v
     >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Computer<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

The typewriter isn't obsolete because something has improved it. It's ability to create a typewritten document has been put digitally.
What people don't understand is that it is a option. Wether you type on
the computer, or on a typewriter, it basically is the same thing. Yet, Microsoft Word has been combined with other options, other things like digital mail, that it makes it somewhat easier. And that, there is no thing as a paperless society. I say that, wether you use a typewriter,
or a computer, the option doesn't make you old school. The computer has created the option between, focus on one thing and one thing only, the typewriter does that, or work on the computer, and focus on several different things at the same time.
The typewriter isn't in fact, old school, as they are still being made today, they just aren't as handy as they used to be. Computers have created a option, not a death. Also, considering the RIDICILOUS prices for printer cartridges,
People actually would be better off with a typewriter. Do you need a school document typed? Are you going to spend $60.00 on a printer cartridge that last two weeks, or a typewriter and ribbon that is going to last way more than that. The computer has been made to transfer documents over the world. But what a confusing experience if you want a document printed, just for personal use. Like i said, the purpose, makes it handy.

INForMATION NEEDED!

As a donation piece, i received a 60's/70's Coronet Super 12 with a Coronamatic cartridge that is running dry. Can anybody provide me with some information on wether or not it is possible to rewind the ribbon and where they are purchaseable. Thank you.

I also maybe am interested in buying but i am not interested in shipments. If somebody local can help me out that would be great. Thanks.

news - Februari 21st 2013

New typewriter - Three days ago i managed to purchase another typewriter. A 1939 Imperial 50 desktop machine for $60,-. A image of the machine will be provided on the 'Collection's page. The typewriter is in wonderfull shape with all it's labels intact and the meganisms working properly and fine. The typewriter is originally made in Leicaster England, but i purchased it here at a antique dealer in downtown. He reduced the price from $100 CAD to $60 CAD. A wonderfull deal.

Weak business - Collection updates have been weak these few weeks. I mostly depend on donations as thrift stores and estate sales carry no supply for my collection. Yet, i still gained two or three machines over the last two months. I have two more typewriters waiting for me. A Underwood No.5 and a folding Corona Three. Both typewriters hopefully will be added to the collection soon. Updates will be notified.

UK's 'last typewriter' produced

Check out this video, showing off the last typewriter produced in the UK.

...dejavu.

I just wanted to show a advertisement on
Craigslist - Philadelphia
concerning a typewriter (suprisingly a SG1) that is in exactly the same condition as my SG3 was before restoration. Up to the flaking of the chrome on the carriage return leaver. A common weakness in Olympia maybe.

Here is the link, but when
the ad is removed, this will expire and i will only will have a picture of what the ad looked like.
